"in you a star was born"
From the competitiveness of Aries and the perfectionisms of Virgos to the imaginations of Pisces and the liveliness of Leo, all signs have their own quirks...take a look to see which art print best reflects your star sign.
1. Aries
Life on mars David Bowie inspired art print
The first sign and the baby of the zodiac....Ruled by Mars, an Aries competitive nature, passionate heart and eager spirit are part of their charm, going 100 mph with fire in the belly, they truly are unstoppable forces of nature. Headstrong practical and brave, an Aries has no limits.
2. Taurus
This must be the place art print
Indulge yourself, the true nature of Taureans is all about pleasure, they love to love they love to have and they love to be. They are earthly beings who like to feel settled in their surroundings and won't let anyone stop them, don't let their laid back nature fool you.... the sheer drive and stubborn qualities of Taurus means they often CAN have it all, a happy home happy mind happy soul.
3. Gemini
Sound & Vision Bowie inspired art print
Double trouble, the two sides of gemini have always made them fascinating, The best communicators, they want to hear, see and know everything, they love nothing more than to natter the night away, it's no surprise they're the most curious sign out there. Like Bowie they have different personas and although the social butterflies are often onto the next party, they also love to slow down, reflect and visualise.....managing to manifest their own futures.
4. Cancer
The Dark side of the moon art print
Ruled by the moon, and filled with empathy and emotion. Cancerians are your ride or die partner, they will love you to the moon and back and expect the same in return. Deep thinkers and big listeners are part of what makes this emotional sign so powerful to be around. Just like Pink Floyd's music Cancerians have so many layers and the more you're around them, the more they reveal, and just when you think you've got to their core....they might just surprise you with another.
5. Leo
Need we say more....? Leos love to lead, they love to take centre stage and their wild and loving nature makes them worthy of it. Ruled by the sun, the lively and wild qualities Leo's posses, mean there's never a dull moment with them around, they'll take charge and just like the lion have courage to act just as they are.
6. Virgo
A Virgos exterior is exactly what they want you to see but underneath it has been carefully calculated and planned out like you wouldn't believe. Their eye for detail makes them creative souls and their obsession to help others is what makes them have a caring empathic heart. A Virgos mind is the most analytical out of the whole zodiac, meaning they've thought of a solution before the problem even occurs.
7. Libra
The chain Fleetwood Mac inspired art print
Nothing but balance, A Libras true calling is to find peace everywhere they go, their diplomatic minds calls for fairness and balance in the world. Moulding themselves to any given situation, they are the master shape shifters of the zodiac. Their hate for chaos and disorder and their need for justice and calm is reflected in their sensitive balanced souls.
8. Scorpio
The mystics of the zodiac, scorpios fiery spirit and sensual soul with leave you hypnotised. Their hearts are often guarded with secrets that you want to unlock. Drawn to the dark and dangerous, their independent and strong nature will keep you spell bound.
9. Sagittarius
Libre comme un oiseau (Free as a bird) art print
The wanderers of the zodiac, Sagittarius souls can't be restricted, with rebellious hearts they often like to make their own rules as they go along. Their vibrant playful energy, passionate and enthusiastic minds and free spirits truly are infectious. You can't keep them caged, they will not rest until they break free and fly to their own rhythm.
10. Capricorn
Capricorns have untouchable focus, the determination and drive is like no other. The grafters of the zodiac. Reliable and hardworking comes naturally, they don't need to be in a room full of people to feel the energy, their drive comes from their own inner ambition.
11. Aquarius
The bright side of the road art print
The heroes of the zodiac, Aquarius souls are most happy when trying to save the world, their natural positive and upfront nature makes them practical and optimistic. Some call them the clever clogs of the pack, constantly looking to the future, their bright intellectual minds mixed with their imaginative innovation are a true force to be reckoned with.
11. Pisces
Imagine John Lennon inspired art print
Pisces, The last but by no means least of the zodiac. A magical sign full of worldly wisdom. Their heart full of empathy, their heads full of creativity and the soul full of wonder. They will listen to your every problem with no judgement, they feel all the feels. The true daydreamers of the pack.

It's so easy to compare or self criticise but my sisters what about your je ne sais quoi? Everyone has that "certain something something" you just have to know it.
We often look at 60s French icons or our favourite rock n roll singer and think they just have that "je ne sais quoi." That something we can't explain but that makes us addicted to flicking through their feed or old video footage of them. But remember someone out there will be doing just that about us, we could walk past them in the street and catch eyes or they could be some of our nearest and dearest. Sometimes we just have to let our authentic selves shine, after all there is only one of each us us, flaws and all so lets celebrate our je ne sais quoi!
Be inspired and know that you inspire.
Stay cool sisters!
Johanna and Felicity
Fanclub was originally born at the back end of 2015 and when trying to decide on a name we really started to look at the reasons we both wanted a brand, what we wanted it to stand for and what it meant to us, and although we had a refresh the deep rooted core hasn't changed. We wanted to create a brand that has a lot of nostalgic soul, all the movements and amazing women from the past that's where our main design aesthetic and inspiration comes from, but it was more than that. We wanted customers or (members) to feel like they've bought into an idea, a lifestyle, a community where they can be exactly who they want, stand for what they wanted to stand for but not take life too seriously. With that in mind we knew slogans, words and feelings were what we were passionate about and with that all in mind, the name Fanclub was born.
Lets get personal
Sisterhood and the idea of women building each other up has always been at the heart of the brand, but we never really realised just how much it ran through our veins until the other day when we had a bit of an epiphany moment. As you know Fanclub was created by two sisters, but there are actually 5 of us in total that make up our crazy old family. To take you back to our beginning, we had an amazing childhood filled with strong family values and were always so close as sisters (finishing each others sentences, letting our parents know what the other one wanted even before we could speak for ourselves) but our family was soon to change.
Our family broke up and we experienced what we can now say was a traumatic divorce, but one we learnt so much from. All of this made us come together, our mum and the three sisters. We called ourselves an unbreakable cube or pod that even when the going gets tough we always have the pod to support us. Since then we have both grown up in a commune style house hold very open, warm and surrounded by women. This experience really taught us just how powerful sisterhood can be. Now don't get me wrong we're not anti men and we still have a relationship with our father who brought two more girls into our lives (to make up 5 sisters). We adore them and treat them just as we would if we grew up with them (even the older sister teasing mentality) but I suppose we just came to realise how strong the power of supportive women around you can really be.
I know it can be cliche to say your sisters are your best friends but it really is the case for us, anyone who meets us always comments on how alike our mannerisms are and just how close we are. We also have sisters who we choose like friends, extended family, work colleagues who have all come into the pod to create this sort of club. This is what we want for Fanclub and with that we wanted to praise all the amazing women who helped bring Fanclub to life.
The Fanclub family
The artist
Beth from Spiltmilkpress
We hooked up with Local Nottingham artist Beth, after coming across her shop of beautiful pop culture and indie haze inspired art. She worked with us to design a nico inspired art print and illustrated a dope ass t-shirt. She has some crazy talent and is exceptional at understanding what was in our heads and transforming our ideas into dope ass art!
go set your eyes on fire by checking out her impressive illustrations here
The graphic goddess
Olivia from Oliviaillustrations
We first hooked up with Olivia at the beginning of our launch plans, we needed a new logo to inspire us and bring our brand to life again, this Mancunian based graphics goodness put her pen to paper and designed a super freaking cool logo, (inspired by old school guitar logos) we wanted something retro, clean and to the point and she didn't disappoint !
Be amazed by her retro inspired fonts and graphics here
The printers and manufacturers
Hannah and Harlow
We first worked with Hannah a good few years back, she has hand printed and hand stitched every graphic t-shirt. She's not only local to Nottingham which is always good to support but also is a small independent which means we can sit and talk her through all our ideas and visions, something many printers don't provide. Harlow is a London based manufacture made up of 4 women, they specialise in knitwear and have honestly been such a pleasure to work with. Both being small companies, they provide services to suit the needs of a brand our size and support small batch production, they're not trying to rip you off and we trust them both completely. Which is a huge thing when your putting your faith in these companies!
The girl behind the lens
Holly
When we first reached out to Manchester based photographer Holly, her enthusiasm for our concept and relaunch was perfect. Hiring her for our relaunch collection photoshoot felt a perfect fit after scrolling through her dreamy raw portrait style photography, she has a knack for making something look nostalgic and has magic eye for giving something or someone that feeling. We can't wait to share all the 60s and 70s inspired snaps.
Go take a look at what holly can capture through a lens here
The Face
Starr the superstar
When we started searching for the girl we wanted to use as our model, we thought who better then an up and coming Manchester based model, front woman and superstar (Starr Clare). She has a nostalgic soul and spirit and her look is that of a cool contemporary indie girl (plus with a name like Starr what else could we ask for). On shoot day we were amazed with how quickly she got into role, we stated we wanted to recreate the feeling of Warhols muses (think Edie Sedgwick and Nico) and she did just that, she was an absolute rock star to work with and we're so happy with the retro roots she gave the pictures.
If you wanna be inspired by muse pictures check out Starr here
The Punk
Clare (aka the stone witch)
Clare is a personal friend of ours and a badass jewellery maker too! She has her own brand bonearrow filled with silver hardware and raw stones which you can check out here
Clare's talents don't stop there, she has been a make up artist for a good few years now, working in fashion and film and we hired her to paint Starr's face on our shoot, she referenced 70s blue shadow and natural 60s skin which honestly gave our photoshoot the perfect retro nod. She's a rebel at heart, a grown up goth and one talented soul (Whose hands should be insured)
If you wanna check out her gothic witchy feed click here
The decoration
K.fines Jewellery
Another Brand who helped support our launch was K.fines Jewellery store in Nottingham, filled with amazing contemporary independents such as Mikaela Lyons. We reached out to them and they kindly loaned us some amazing pieces to help bring the shoot to life, a mixture of signet rings, statement necklaces and big hoops it really helped bring the shoot to the next level.
If you wanna check out their Pieces head here
The brand therapist
Elizabeth Stiles
An integral person and cog in our launch is Fashion consultant and all over sweetheart Elizabeth Stiles. We started working with Elizabeth at the beginning of the year, she got our brand out of the rut and brought inspiration back into our minds, her smart advice and friendly tone is what made us kick our ass into gear and bring our soul back to the brand. She really was a true diamond!
For words of wisdom and latest fashion news Elizabeth is your go to girl.
The brand sister
We couldn't not give a shout out to our right arm and sister Steffi, from carting us around to just being there to moan to when something doesn't work, she's our mascot and cheerleader and now she's gone off on her own to be the badass beauty therapist and nail artist Nottingham has seen. We couldn't be more proud of our fellow pea from the pod.
check out her new venture and amazing skills here
The Nostalgic Soul
The mother of Fanclub
I didn't feel right to have an issue about sisterhood and not mention our rock through every Fanclub fuck up, who parties with us along the highs and is their for the lows.... Momma Bras is one hell of a superstar and from making sure we're stopping for lunch to picking up missed parcels, the future of Fanclub has only been made possible from this legend!
Hardcore
To all our fans...
Lastly and this is a big one, we couldn't of done any of the amazing hook ups, collaborations and more if it wasn't for all of our hardcore fans, those who have emailed, dm and followed our story... This one's for you! We hope you know just how dope ass we think all of you are.
We hope you enjoyed reading this blog, for all those who have sisters or who have yet to find them in the world come and join the movement, the sisterhood... The Fanclub!
we hope this was a bit of an incite to our roots and just how deep they run.... Behind a great woman, there's a heck load of other dope ass women cheering her on... and that is so freaking true!
Stay cool Sisters!

With what would have been his 91st Birthday we celebrate the original outsider, who took the way we think to a new level and changed popular culture and art forever. Andy Warhol was a driving force of the New York swinging sixties scene, his Factory was a hub for creative souls to unleash their true selves.
He celebrated differences, featuring trans models and exhibitionists in his art movies, Warhol also worked with anyone and everyone of that time, from musicians like Velvet Underground and Rolling Stones to capturing the beauty of Blondie's front woman- Debbie Harry to actress Elizabeth Taylor and many more.
He brought to life the "IT girl" concept and believed the idea of fame was fascinating. Warhol had a list of superstars that went on to become muses for generations to come. He could spot trends before they even existed and had an eye for the weird and wonderful. He delved into taboo areas of sex drugs and art and commercialised the concept of modern consumerism.
Our Factory Girls slogan t-shirt plays homage to Warhols superstars and his experimental film concepts. The front features 1960s retro font whilst the back mimics the design of old posters and vintage band t-shirts.
Shop this t-shirt and celebrate the history of Warhol's wonderful yet bizarre mind. Go retro and rock some blue eye shadow and bell bottoms for a modern take on a 1960s style.
Our Ultra Violet 100% merino wool slogan Knit was inspired by the concept of Andy himself, seeing things no one can see it also was the name of one of his most famous superstars, actress and writer "Ultra Violet". The use of a retro colours makes this fine knit jumper something cool and totally vintage inspired.
Our Pretty baby t-shirt was inspired by the 70s punk front woman Debbie Harry (who was iconically photographed by Andy Warhol)... taking influence from Blondie's Lyrics Pretty Baby to encompass a retro inspired simplistic design. Styled with silver foil which was also a main feature of Andy's Factory (Go check out silver factory on Pinterest and you'll see what we mean)
Our Lust for Life slogan t-shirt plays homage to Iggy Pop another regular visitor of Warhol's factory, using his positive affirmation and the sex inspired rock n roll song "Lust for life" for the basis of this 70s psychedelic designed graphic t-shirt.
Our untold pleasures illustrated graphic t-shirt is inspired by Warhol's superstar and muse Nico, who joined forces with Lou Reed and Velvet Underground to produce one of the most iconic albums of the century and one of the most recognisable album covers (Which was designed by Andy Warhol himself) of all time.
He was a one of a kind soul with many talents and many flaws, his image (now iconic) was where he struggled, although confident with his visions his vulnerability and unique outlook on life and what it means is what truly made him one of the greatest artists of the 21st Century. In the words of Warhol himself...

We recently launched our new website and new collection 'A rest stop for rare individuals'
If you haven't already check out the look book here... A rest stop for rare individuals part one
Before relaunching we really sat down and had a think about what Fanclub was trying to say, so for those who don't know...
Born from the bedroom of two sisters...
We’re a two woman show, an independent British brand, creating those easy basics with nostalgic soul. Our roots run deep into old boxes of vinyl. Inspired by 60s and 70s movements, muses, poets and punks. Born from a feeling, here for the future. The antidote to fast fashion we give a damn with small batch productions and ethically sourced good quality material. We are the designers, the packers and the shippers.. lets roam through life like a rolling stone.
We took our time to really delve into movements, music, muses, poets and punks that have inspired us. We carefully curated what we think is a dope ass collection filled with good quality easy basics for satisfy your nostalgic soul.
We both love nothing more than words, slogans and statements that give us a feeling, but with high street stores using fast fashion and trying to recreate cult classics or statements tees it can be hard to make your stamp. We don't want to be another slogan brand, we're more then a graphic tee, we want our pieces to mean something and to give our customers that feeling we get when scrolling through 60s and 70s pictures on pinterest when you see your favourite poet, punk or muse rocking their favourite tee.
Clothes are like your second skin, art is like your lost voice. We are not here for throw away fashion, something you wear to your summer festival that then gets lost in a wardrobe, we want you all to have an absolute love affair with your Fanclub piece and to feel like one dope ass woman wearing it. We've used natural fibres, 100% organic cotton and 100% merino wool to bring you pieces to last a lifetime. We're also super proud to say all our packaging is zero% plastic baby and our entire collection is manufactured by small business or factories that support small batch runs! Step aside fast fashion.... Fanclub is your antidote, Let's bring back independents let's celebrate that feeling!
check out what we stand for here
Stay cool!

A note to our fans.
As we’ve hinted towards Fanclub has some big changes happening in 2019. We always wanted to create a brand that felt like a fanclub, celebrating those nostalgic souls from the past. Throughout 2018 we had lots of midnight talks about just what the essence of Fanclub is. We’ve discovered we’ve been holding ourselves back and now it’s time to unleash The Fanclub.
We are creating a launch collection to symbolise our rebirth, we are using manufacturers based in the UK to bring good quality staples and home ware. We cant wait to take you on this process with us, if you’re obsessed with muses from the past, addicted to playing old records on repeat and love the thought of supporting independents this is gonna be the place to be. We are going to turn the heat up with a new logo, packaging and a website make over. We’re gonna strip back all the fuss and let you have your say, we want to share our worlds with you, and would love to collaborate with all our members. In this fast paced world we wanna take you back to the basics, stay connected through music and style, no more fast fashion, supporting the environment when and where we can and making this a fanclub you’ll all hopefully want to be a part of.
Throughout our relaunch we’re clearing through all the past stock to make way for new. It’s your last chance to purchase some of our early pieces, heavy discounts apply and nothing will be restocked, so don’t miss out on this steal. Stay tuned and keep an eye on our IG for more sneak peaks of this re-brand.
“Fanclub is a way of life, born out of the bedroom of two sisters.”
Uniting all females with a rock n roll aura and nostalgic soul. We’re a British independent fashion and lifestyle brand, providing good quality indie inspired clothing and home-ware. In a world that moves too fast and perfection is an obsession, its easy to get caught up or lost, Fanclub is here to bring you back down to a retro inspired reality, where imperfections weren’t highlighted but neither were they flaws, they were just what made someone who they are. We believe in staying connected, through music and style, constantly seeking inspiration from icons of the past. We believe in Dressing for the feeling not the occasion, style is more than endless pieces of clothing, it’s a self expression of who we are and what we stand for. Lets roam through life like a rolling stone and make it up together as we go along.

10. Patti Smith Horses (1975)
Shot by Mapplethrope in 1975, Horses showcases a portrait of Patti Smith standing empowered, with a black ribbon and blazer draped over her shoulder. A classic portrayal of feminine meets masculine. The Friendship and love between Mapplethorpe and Smith is what truly shines through as he captures her unique expression of beauty and strength in one simple yet effective image.
9. Blondie Parralle Lines (1978)
Blondies' Parralle Lines conjured up quite a storm between the artists and designer. However for us this cover is so iconic in its simplicity that it couldn't be missed from our list. The powerful colour palette of Black white and red alongside the strong stern pose of Debbie Harry makes for a unforgettable cover.
8. Bob Dylan The Freewheelin' (1963)
Dylan's Freewheelin album cover pictures himself and Suze Rotolo walking down west village, NY. The normality of this shot really engages the eye as you see the musical genius bundled up with his lover doing what we all do (just strolling the streets). It has a rawness and almost a mundaneness to it that allows us to relate to the artist and the cover. Not to mention the retro beige coat he's wearing which never fails to be forgotten.
7. Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon (1978)
Pink Floyd have had many incredible and inspiring covers over the time but Dark side of the moon has to have of taken the spotlight in popular culture, Designed by Thorgerson and Hipgnosis the cover features an abstract image of white lines, travelling through a prism leading to a strong rainbow of colours placed on an jet black cover. The mysterious, mathematical and almost psychedelic tendencies of this design is what truly hypnotises and opens your mind to the world and music of the legends.
6. Fleetwood Mac Rumours (1977)
Rumours by Fleetwood Mac is definitely their most celebrated and remembered cover and album. The cover reflects the album itself, a twisted tale of love, loss and emotion. Stevie Nicks floats around Fleetwood whose standing strong with one leg propped up, dangling between his legs are his famous lucky charms or for those of you that don't know (two balls). The imagery, typography and muted colours really help bring this cover to a stylishly spooky place.
5. David Bowie Aladdin Sane (1973)
In at number 5 we have none other than Bowie's Aladdin Sane, his classic Ziggy Stardust persona and lightning bolt painted face takes us to another dimension, going on an out of space journey with him as he transports us through time with his music. Another unforgettable image. Not a lot has to be said about this more than wow!
4. Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA (1984)
Not only a classic cover but one with that caused a lot of controversy so much that it was banned for a period of time in the states. Shot be the talented Annie Leibrowitz in 84 the artwork display Springsteens Butt facing the American Flag. American republicans believed the image had motive and showed the artist pissing over the flag. The Americana theme and upbeat music juxtaposed against the rawness and lyrical meanings of what it really means to live the American dream are what makes this controversial and wonderfully shot cover a true rebellious and iconic piece of popular culture, hands down the boss only answers to himself.
3. Velvet Underground and Nico (1967)
Now we're down to our top three and what better way to start than a classic Warhol designed cover, the famous banana which you can peel, placed on a crisp white background. The randomness and novel aspect of this design is what captures the imagination and creativity of the album itself. An inspiring piece of artwork and an iconic part of popular culture.
2. The Beatles Revolver (1966)
We couldn't have a top 10 album covers countdown without mentioning the four genius boys from Liverpool could we now? The Beatles have had a long list of inspiring and iconic covers but for us Revolver has always been a favourite. The blend of illustrative and photo based imagery, mixed with the use of black and white conceptual lines brings the element of fantasy and reality together. Well done Klaus Voormann for the design, inspiring us for decades!
1. The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers (1971)
The wait is done and here's our all time favourite Album cover....of course who couldn't choose a cover with an actual working zip placed on an image of a large crotch with the genius Warhol behind the concept? Sticky fingers was an eye opener, it heralded an age of really imaginative and provocative packaging. Jagger was adamant on Warhols idea and went against packaging advice, broke the rules and found a way to launch the unforgettable and groundbreaking cover. But who's pictured in the tighty whities beneath the zipper? It still remains a mystery!

Our prayers have been answered here at fan-club as last week icon and fan-club muse Carly Simon revealed an unrecorded verse to her 72's classic "You're so Vain".
In the new episode of the BBC’s Classic Albums series, Carly sings the verse for the first time with the music, words she originally wrote on a pad back in the 70's that never actually made the final cut. We think it's a hidden gem!
A friend of yours revealed to me,That you loved me all the time
Kept it secret from your wives, You believed it was no crime.
You called me once to ask me things,I couldn’t quite divine Maybe that’s why I have tried to dismiss you tried to dismiss you...

This week in the Fan-Club club house we have been obsessing over Blondie's front woman and possibly one of the coolest bad ass babes to date, Debbie Harry. Anyone who hasn't danced round to the Parallel Lines vinyl hasn't lived yet, so if your reading this get on an oversized tee, turn the record up and be fearless! The album cover itself is graphic and iconic, showing Debbie as an empowered front woman; paving the way for many female musicians.
With her platinum hair, razor-sharp cheekbone’s, tough but playful attitude and fearless style, it was easy to see how she not only defined the “New York look” but became one of the most celebrated “Punk Rock” women in fashion and music history. Her rock 'n' roll groupie attitude with her care free, fearless stance kick started a new girl power movement. Not giving a f*uck and looking like you just rolled out of bed with the "I've just had sex look" were things that gave women in the 70's a bad reputation, but somehow Debbie broke those rules and made it cool. Let's face it every girl wants a bit of Debbie's kick ass style and soul in their life.
Often spotted rockin' out on stage in double denim or slogan/graphic statement tees, her indie punk style was unique for it's time and it's easy to see how she quickly became a muse for many.
Now lets be the front woman in our own show, rock our statement graphic tees and add a bit of Debbie's playful bad ass style into our lives.
